Compare this photo of her to those taken when she was a girl for an interesting contrast. See Photos 4 and 11 in this Set. In Photo 13, Set 1 there is a very good front face photo of Mrs. La Porte."

The couple made their home on Shelter Island which is rendered in the Montauk dialect as Manhansett-ahaoquahs a wanuck (Island Sheltered by Islands)."
