I am standing betweeen the two French Chasseurs 'Blue Devils'"     NOTES Fred Linthwaite indicates himself with an X above his head on front of the photo Photo depicts Cafe Thiel, proprietor standing on the entrance landing, along with relatives and/or staff above and amidst an international bevy of soldiers, Americans, French and Germans (note the pickelhaubs, spiked helments, front right), and even a couple of dogs. The shot was taken in then Allied occupied Luxembourg, Linthwaite's unit then being part of the occupying force.
