Mr. Gordon
My Dear Sir
As my son Henry Cassan is aboard the S.S. Danielson County that was disabled in the great Atlantic Gales and was Towed in to the Azores for repairs and as I do not know when he will get Home I take [the] liberty of answering your Note to him I can send you his Picture and tell you what I know. He was in Camp Devioms [Devens, Mass.] 15 months he did not go over seas he belonged to the Field Artillery Battery E 302nd and was in the Officers Mess Hall over 6 Month[s]. This is all I can tell you about his Camp Life.
