Description: The reverse reads:
"This is an interesting likeness of Emma Halsey Hall a member of the Eastville Band of the Montauk Tribe and rival faction of the Freetown Band of the Montauks at East Hampton. Prominent families among the Eastville Band were the Cufee, Ashaman, Crippen, Halsey, King and Consas. Those prominent in the Freetown Band were the Pharoahs, Fowlers, Butlers, Wrights and Hortons.
Emma Hall's brother Walter Halsey was once a Councillor of the Eastville Band of the Montauks. In Photo 15, Emma appears with her mother Amelia Cuffee Halsey and in Photo 17 she appears in her full tribal dress."
