Description: The reverse reads:
"Will Comsa was one of the staunch members of the Sag Harbor Montauks. Related to the Cuffees it was men of his nature who refused to recognize the famous Wyandank Pharoah as King of the Montauks.
Wyandank received his title through inheritance in the same manner that the title of King had been handed down to his father King David. In view of the fact that several of the tribe had stated that King David should be elected rather than receive his title through inheritance, David Pharaoh agreed to an election and won. The Fowlers claimed that King David bought the votes of several Montauks and even hired some Shinnecocks to vote for him
Men like Will Comsa whose forefathers had left Montauk generations before had no say in reservation affairs. Comsa was one who felt that the King should be a qualified person rather than one who came to the title by inheritance. Just a glimpse at the strong eyes and face of this Montauk conveys to the reader that here was a man who was not afraid to express his opinion."
