Description: The reverse reads:
"An Indian traditionalist at heart, Mrs. Eliza Beaman, Princess Occum as she is known in Indian circles, is the sister of Marguerite Fowler La Porte and Maria Horton.
She has made her home on the Shinnecock Reservation at Southampton since her marriage to Anthony Beaman, a member of the Shinnecock tribe. Her knowledge of Montauk lore and herbals has been of much use to myself, and the late Dr. Frank G. Speck, in our Montauk studies. We visited her home on numerous occasions with students of Anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania. She is one of two Eastern Montauk women still practicing the art of beadwork. She has a deep and accurate dknowledge of Montauk life in the long ago which, was handed down to her by her parents, George and Sarah Fowler."
