Description: The reverse reads:
"This very old Indian church still stands in the settlement of the Mohegan Indians at Mohegan Hill, Conn. near the town of Norwich.
The Church is Congregationalist and is near the home of Samson Occum, the famous Mohegan minister who married Mary Fowler of the Montauks. It is one of the oldest Indian churches in the United States.
Due to the activiness of several of the present day Mohegans the State Of Connecticut has erected a marker on the highway which contains information concerning the chapel."
