Description: The caption reads:
"This photo of Doris Smith in her Easter outfit was taken on Easter Sunday in 1940 as she and many others of the tribe gathered in front of the church prior to the services.
Doris is one of the three daughters of the late Thomas and Camille Smith and her mother appears in photo 4. Her two brothers, Charles Kellis Smith and Elmer Smith have always been outstanding members of the Shinnecock community and Elmer is in charge of the maintenance at the Shinnecock Hills Golf Club.
Doris is now a young lady and the mother of several children (1969) and is married to Christopher Cuffee Green also a Shinnecock."
