"The annual Shinnecock Pow Wow held on Labor Day weekend has attracted throngs of Indians who because of the high sales potential due to a thriving business with consessions at the annual affair. It also attracts thousands of tourists who come from all parts of the east.
The Shinnecocks, who are hosts to the gathering, have adopted the Plains Type of costume of the Sioux rather than the ancient type of garment worn by their ancestors when they roamed the hills of Eastern Long island.
In this photo appears Princess Wyandank, Princess Red Fox, Princess Nowedonah and Chief Thunder Bird who are some of the officials of the annual Pow Wow."
