Description: The caption reads:
"This is another interesting facial study of the most famous Shinnecock Indian of recent times, Wickham Cuffee. It was taken 10 years later than Photo 41. Notice the lines of age setting in around his mouth. He broke his hip when he was 80 but this did not hinder him from walking from Shinnecock to Southampton on a pair of crutches every day. This was a distance of three miles and quite a walk for anyone with good legs let along one with a broken hip.
At the time of his death in 1915, Wickham Cuffee was 90 years old. His grandaughter, Lois Marie Hunter (Princess Nowedonah) is the Shinnecock Historian."
