The Richard York Shoe Store (14 South Ocean Avenue) was constructed of sturdy brick in the early 1930s. A course of cut-brick blind miniature arches runs under the roof eaves. The Roe Agency building at 125 East Main Street was built in similar tan brick a few years earlier. Richard York opened in Patchogue in 1927 and moved to this building in 1931. Richard York and Blum’s are Patchogue’s oldest stores.
